👵👴 Dear Mom & Dad 5: Personal development programs that are worth it

Dear friend,

I was quite skeptical about personal development programs before I went to my first one.

I only went because I trusted the people in my life who recommended them. It's clear they got a lot out of their experiences and almost all of them said they wished they had taken the leap earlier in life.

Today, I want to share some of the programs that completely transformed my relationship with my parents (& countless other people in my life).

Most importantly, I want to remind you to give yourself the grace you need—a lot is going on right now. ❤️

1. 🧘 Personal Development Programs Are Worth It

The greatest value that cohort-based programs provide over books, self-paced courses, and even individual coaching/therapy is the opportunity to put lessons into action.

These are very different:
1️⃣ Understanding a concept intellectually.
2️⃣ Practicing that concept with peers.
3️⃣ Using that concept to work through a tension with a friend, partner, loved one, etc.

Cohort-based programs are designed for 2 & 3.

I can safely say that I wouldn't have called my parents and read the 3-sentence letter to them that permanently improved our relationship if I didn't go through ⭐️ Landmark. This happened because 100+ of us were all calling our loved ones during the program to have courageous, overdue conversations. The social accountability and support are priceless, and I ended up doing five of their offerings within seven months.

I wouldn't have challenged myself to hug my parents every day I lived at home, if I didn't go through ⭐️ Challenge Day's adult program, and practiced expressing my love for the people in my life with complete strangers.

Few experiences in my life have fundamentally changed who I am as a person. Landmark and Challenge Day are two of them.

2. 🫂 Relating Between The Lines Workshop (Thursday, 3/10, 5:30-7 PM PST)

It was a complete no-brainer to partner up with Relating Between the Lines to create a FREE workshop to explore how to be better listeners with our parents. ❤️⁣

RBTL is an 8-week cohort-based program that will teach you the concrete communication skills to connect more intentionally with the people in your life.

Come to our workshop to learn, practice, and meet some other like-minded humans.
